A Lovely Story About the Potency of Peer Support

peer potency

Some time ago the pro bono charity leader of one of our Pabasso - Peer Advisory Board Associates groups asked if we knew any potential trustees willing to work with the charity.

We duly asked some of our members if they knew anyone who might be interested and one of our members put forward one of his customers. He was interested and subsequently appointed as a Trustee of the charity.

Some months later, the same pro bono Pabasso - Peer Advisory Board Associates charity leader, left the charity she was leading to join a smaller charity, which left us with a vacancy for a new pro bono charity leader.

Shortly afterwards, I was nominated for TheBusinessDesk.com Northern Leadership Awards ‘Mentor of the Year’ and attended the associated awards dinner. Interestingly, there was a leader of a local charity on our table that evening and we chatted about the pro bono vacancy on the Pabasso - Peer Advisory Board Associates board.

You guessed it, she was subsequently appointed to one of our Pabasso - Peer Advisory Board Associates Boards as the pro bono charity leader. On a side note, I also won the Mentor of the Year award that evening!

More Months passed and the exited charity leader member suggested that their new trustee (who you may remember was alerted to the role by a Pabasso member) could be interested in joining a Pabasso - Peer Advisory Board Associates board. He was interested and subsequently joined one of our boards.

Time passed and our new Pabasso - Peer Advisory Board Associates charity leader announced that she would be leaving the charity she led at the end of 2023 for a new adventure, as yet to be determined.

As 2023 was ending, our @Pabasso member (who is also the trustee of the Charity) told me that the Charity CEO was leaving and that they would probably have to look for an interim CEO.

We suggested our exiting Charity leader (the one looking for a new adventure) might be a possibility. You guessed it she took up the interim Charity leader role earlier this month.

What goes around comes around - the potency of peer support!

We currently have a vacancy in one of our Yorkshire-based Pabasso - Peer Advisory Board Associates boards so if you would like to know more about how we help leaders of established businesses progress through shared experiences, expertise, and support, please do not hesitate to get in touch
