You should pick a small number of high-level goals you wish to achieve in 2024, both personal and business, write them down and keep these to hand to help you focus throughout the year.

Another useful tip is to share these goals with someone who can help you maintain your focus and achieve these goals. This could be a supportive family member or a supportive colleague, just make sure it is someone who believes in your goals and the value you will get from achieving them!

A goal should have planned steps and measurable success. Ideally, it should be a SMART goal, not some sort of wild aspiration you will never achieve.

SMART goals need to be realistic, so you're more likely to follow through and achieve them.

- Compete in a significant alpine cycle race

- Get the big deal over the line

- Get away for a break at least once a month

- Turnaround a formerly profitable connected business 

- Hit the age of 40 in great shape

- Double revenues and profits

- Compete in 3 triathlons

- Invest in a biodiversity business

- Increase revenue by £1m

- Do the National 3 Peaks 24-Hour Challenge

- Recruit an outstanding BDM

- Prepare the business for investment in 2024 to support further growth
