Curious about the Institute of Directors?

A thriving community of skilled directors and leaders

Why the Institute of Directors (IoD)?

86, IOD picture

I have recently rejoined the Institute of Directors (IoD) having been a member for many years but I allowed my membership to lapse due to more pressing demands on my time.

I was reflecting on why I rejoined and some of the things I missed whilst an absentee and I thought I would share those with you as the Institute of Directors (IoD) is a unique UK body supporting Directors and Business Leaders with full membership costing only £42.75 per month.

- Quality High-Level Training programs:  some of which I have attended over the years.

- Resources: a plethora of resources, papers, topical videos etc. a resource I have used extensively over the years when looking for specific information on roles, practices etc.

- Networking:   I have never attended any National events but I did get value from attending some of the events put on by my local IoD Yorkshire & North East branch

- Advice: I have used  helplines that include advice on legal, taxation, business research, HR etc

- IOD Hubs: when I spent more time in London I often took advantage of the free workspace at Pall Mall between meetings. There are now around 40 locations available, including at our friends at Wizu Workspace.

On the wider front, the Institute of Directors (IoD) is its member's voice for Government raising issues that matter to the wide membership - this may become more important in the coming months!

At Pabasso - Peer Advisory Board Associates we know the value that Business Leaders get from shared experience, expertise and support and being part of the Institute of Directors (IoD) allows members to experience some of that value.
